Public TV is a 24 hour Kannada language news television channel that was launched on 26 Jan, 2012. It went live on 12 Feb, 2012. Veteran journalist HR Ranganath is Chairman and Managing Editor of Writeman Media, who comes in with an experience of 24 years in media, with close to 17-19 years in the print industry[1]. Arun Kumar has been roped in as CEO, while S Divaakar is Vice President, Sales and Marketing. The channel has been promoted by Writemen Media Pvt Ltd, an independent company that has been floated to start this venture[2]. The organization has also brought in a system to ensure transparency in their workings and will also appoint an Assets Ombudsman. The Chairman and Managing Editor (here, HR Ranaganath) shall publicly announce his assets on Day 1. If any undisclosed properties are found, they shall be auctioned.
